Since its founding in 1972, Samyang Chemical Co., Ltd. has contributed to the enhancement of the Korean military’s combat strength in defense industry fields such as CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) protection, ammunition, camouflage, and signal management.

CBRN Protection: Starting with decontamination and detoxification projects, the company developed individual and collective protective equipment. Recently, it has expanded into biological agent detection, identification, and warning systems to increase survivability and preserve combat power in future CBRN battlefields.

Ammunition: The company developed multi-spectral screening smoke grenades that block visible light, infrared, and millimeter waves, as well as electronic warfare ammunition that counters infrared, radar, and guided missiles. It focuses on R&D for cutting-edge ammunition to effectively respond to future threats.

Camouflage & Signal Management: It develops and produces multi-spectral camouflage nets, non-underwater IFF (Identification Friend or Foe) devices, and mobile stealth camouflage systems capable of camouflaging/blocking visible light, infrared, and radar bands.

Ammunition Disposal: The company performs disposal missions for small-caliber ammunition, fuses, pyrotechnics, and explosives for the Korean Army and Navy. Based on decades of experience in producing various pyrotechnics and demilitarizing special and conventional ammunition, it continues R&D to meet military demands with high-level demilitarization capabilities.
Zeobuilder
Zeobuilder Co., Ltd.
Zeobuilder was established in June 1988 as Korea’s first company specializing in synthetic zeolites, an affiliate of Samyang Chemical, which has focused solely on the chemical industry for over 30 years.

Technological Development: Zeolite production technology, previously a barren field in Korea, was co-developed with the Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology (KRICT) starting in 1987. In June 1989, a synthetic zeolite production plant was built in Cheonan using pure domestic technology.

Global Expansion: Supported by continuous sales and strong exports, a second factory was built in January 1992, exporting to Japan for nearly 20 years. In November 2007, a new plant with advanced process technology and automation was completed in the Daebul Industrial Complex, Mokpo, which continues to produce high-quality zeolites today.

R&D Commitment: Since April 1993, the entire Technical Development Department has been dispatched to KRICT to focus on fine chemicals and new material development. Zeobuilder remains dedicated to supplying perfect products through quality control, quality improvement, and cost reduction.
